The World of the Internet Trough New Eyes

Despite the long title, I'll keep it short. I've discovered what is a half a game, half a bastard child of Stumble with the inventor from Wild Wild West (the quite bad steam punk cowboy movie with Will Smith). It's tool for Firefox, in the form of a tool bar. After you've registered an account, or get an invitation from someone who plays, you can use this tool bar to create portals, lay mines, give people boxes of tools and DPs, shield yourself from mines with armor, and create paths trough the Internet with light posts. You make a path after your own liking, and let people follow it. With portals and other missions, you can connect it however you want, and so can anyone else. It changes your habits on-line something fierce, and messes up your bookmarks even worse. Needless to say, I love it.

Substitute, instead of me

"In all the human societies we have ever reviewed, in every age and in every state, there has seldom if ever been a shortage of eager young males prepared to kill and die to preserve the security, comfort and prejudices of their elders, and what you call heroism is just an expression of this fact; there is never a scarcity of idiots." Quoted from The Use of Weapons.

Another Awesome Title About Something

I just felt like writing, so I sat down and did. The problem is, I don't really have anything to say. Maybe I have written all that I could? Maybe I should start writing the novel of the decade instead? Who knows? I sure as hell don't. If only something could get me really angry, that always speeds the brain up, and lets me really get at things. I could take up my absolute disgust of people who care only for themselves, and don't see the reason for social security. I could take up the fact that in the worlds richest countries there are people starving to death. And then I haven't even touched the worlds poorest countries, and the fact that with somethings as easy as not overeating, and putting some pressure on out politicians we could change this. By removing medical patents we could have cheap medicines that would save millions of lives all over the world. Fuck the money, people will always be worth more, and if you disagree, you should be shot. For starters. You see? Even when I don't really have anything to write about, my mind keeps wandering. It goes on and on, and it never seems to stop. Luckily, I need the paper and pen to formulate my thought, otherwise they're just a blur of emotions and vague images in my mind. Sometimes they're almost silent, sometimes their sharp edges makes cringe. Though I guess this is life. I shouldn't complain really, I am alive, in one of the worlds rich countries, one of the best when it comes to health care and education. But I don't care. If your countries so good, do something about someone else's. Or at least start people talking about it, that's how you change things. You won't stop people eating meat and wearing fur by showing them images of butchered bunnies. At least if they're anything like me, I only want to punch the person who sent me that annoying chain letter. But if it works, I guess it serves it purpose. Fuck people, they're evil anyway, but we might be able to save the animals! I shouldn't be writing when I'm in this state. I stray from the topic like a drunk driver on the freeway, stooping only to piss on someone's ideas. But you know what? People need to piss each other off. If we didn't get upset or angry anymore, what would get the majority of us to do something about the world? Sure, we have people with morals, dreamers, and other abnormalities. But sometimes it just takes the concentrated anger of the masses to shake things up. But the world keeps going round and round. People keep doing what they do. And I grow less and less interested in it all. Does it matter? At least for me, today, no.

This day

It was supposed to be a day of jamming all over town, playing around and further explore the bounds of my mind and body. Apparently, and despite the fact that I'd talked to a guy who felt like doing the same, nothing has happened. Which is a waste, considering the weather for once is actually good. Sure, it's still cold, but the sun's shining trough the trees outside my window, there is not one cloud in the clear blue sky. The only problem is that the place I want to go to is a school, and even though I'm quite sure the kids wont mind me using their rails for purposes they wear not intended, their teachers might. Plus the fact that I was supposed to go with a friend doesn't make me feel any more like actually going. Hopefully we might go later, but the more time that passes by, the less I feel like leaving my flat. In fact, I feel more like going to sleep. And just stay in bed the entire weekend. Too bad I can't, since that only makes me wanna do it more. Oh, well, I'm going to go outside now anyway. Who knows what might happen?

Our violence.

Most of us have a fascination with violence in some way. It's probably a part of our genetic inheritance, that didn't go away with the rise of society. So why is that? Is it such a necessary mindset that it will remain more or less for eternity? Are we perhaps not as civilized as we would like to claim? Or is maybe something that we, deep down, actually like and enjoy? I can't say I know anything for certain, but to me it seems like violence is something we're born with, or something we evolve trough too much bad tv, gaming, and comics? I doubt the second part, unless you already have some sort of psychological disturbance, but can we exclude it? I'd have to say no. Even though I love some games, comics and movies, who focus almost exclusively on violence, I can't say that these things have not had any effect on me as a person. That would be bullshit. Everything affects us to some degree, even if we are not even aware of it. But if we actually focus on absorbing something containing lots and lots of graphic violence, does the effect differ much from anything else? Cheesy romantic dramas for instance? The problem is that what we're seeing is not how things are in life. Movies, comics and games, even if they are objectively trying to portrait reality, can never do so, since they are not reality. Imagination can only take us so far. Actually being in a fight is not a cool exchange of attacks and blocks. A fight (between two people that is) is not a pleasant experience for neither of them. Unless you've been in several you'll be in a state of panic, your whole body will be stiff because of this fact, and if someone actually manages to hurt the other person it's more a case of luck than anything else. Though this is of course not true in every case. This is just what I picture how two normal persons would fight, partly based on the few fights I've seen. If someone actually starts fighting with the intent of hurting the other person, then we have a different ballgame entirely. The problem is, if you want to hurt someone, you won't think of the consequences. The goal is to hit the other person until they don't fight back. What happens after that won't even cross your mind until you realize you have to deal with the consequences. And then it's too late to change your mind. There you have my view on violence. I can't say I'm either advocating the use of it, nor am I suggesting that we all become pacifists. Sure, I'm against violence in general, it won't make anyone change their mind, and change anything that has already happened. But sometimes you just can't think something over, and a punch in the face is probably the clearest way to tell someone that you don't like them anymore. Though I did drift from the topic I suppose. Our culture seems to have have violence in form or another, no matter the time or place. Public executions, gladiatorial combat in the sand in Colosseum, bullfighting, boxing, movies, music and so on. Though is some cases violence appears to be a part of life for some. Organized crime, Yakuza, and all kinds of gangs all live in worlds where violence is a part of life. It's even difficult to say if they're actually a part of our society or not, simply because they use it as much as they can, and don't abide by it's rules. This isn't really a problem though. What is a problem is the glorification of a life of violence that occurs in movies, music etc. On the surface it seems like like it's easy to just start dealing, and soon you'll be living in a penthouse in New York with a big gold chain, grills and Humvee. Which is of course bullshit as well. Even most movies doesn't portray the life of the criminal in that way, Tony Montana dies in the end for instance. And if you drift into a criminal lifestyle expecting to become rich and powerful, you'll most likely end up dead because someone didn't like you for whatever reason. In a recent article the daughter of a Yakuza boss tells us about her life. How her family was living in poverty, and that the honor and glorification of the criminals are just that; glorification. If even a boss of a criminal organization is poor, how does life look for the guys further down the ladder? Hardly any better. If your already poor, and don't really have anything to lose, it might be easier to drift into criminality than to actually get a job. But once that choice has been made, it's a lot harder leaving that life than it was getting in. More about Shoko Tendo, daughter of a Yakuza boss, here.

The Digital Anarchy

We all know the Internet is like a huge octopus, with billions of arms reaching all over the world, making sure we're all connected to each other all of our conscious hours. But who rules over the Internet? Is it even possible to control it even slightly? One of the requirements would be to have the necessary tech, the best hardware and software available. And much of the western world have this tech, but most of them have no influence, other than that of their charisma and opinions. The truth is, whiteout at least a fundamental knowledge of your hardware and software, you are more of a prisoner than a explorer. Sure, we still have the Internet in it's digital form, but that's about it. Though it is a gigantic monster in it's digital form, more options present themselves the more we learn about how it works. This is of course true for life in general, the more you know the greater your options are. If you know how to best lift a rock you can do that, if you know some basic physics, you'll use leverage to move the rock instead. And so on. Simplified: More knowledge leads to more ways of manipulating our surroundings. Back to the Internet then, does the one with most knowledge have the most power in this case? Yes and no. Even if one person with the right knowledge and tools could do lots, a large group of people with the right determination and basic knowledge could most likely do more than him. I believe that the Internet is truly free in this sense, those who decide are the ones that work together in an attempt to accomplish something. Look at Anonymous: An assorted group of different users, who have virtually nothing in common, more than that they frequent the Internet. With some numbers and a bit of leverage people might just be able to move mountains. This is probably what appeals to us as well, the thought that we can actually have some effect in changing things. Since the Internet is a being consisting of information, if enough people decide that one piece of information should be changed, it will change. And it happens almost instantly, in contradiction to modern politics, in which change occurs with time. Usually a lot of it as well. Is there any differences though? Sure, one might argue that politics take longer time because they need to be carefully reviewed, lots of people have to approve of it. But wouldn't the same thing be accomplished online within hours? True, since there are some many different opinions, it might lead some arguing, but since everyone can have their say, isn't the odds just as good that someone comes up with an answer a lot faster than trough normal procedures? But would this be an Anarchy, or a true Democracy? And what's really the difference, when you think about it? As long as people chose to live together, there will never be a true democracy, or an Anarchy for that matter. But the Internet is the closest to it we have so far. Maybe it's just another step in our evolution?

The Electric Brain

We are being of energy and information. We move trough life, absorbing our surroundings, either for nourishment or experience. We are consumers, and for good or bad, we follow our nature.

People/People

So far I have come up with one criteria that makes a person less worth than another. Believing that you are better than someone whiteout basing that belief on any sort of reasoning of value makes you a fucker. Actually, I could finish this topic with that, it doesn't really need any clarification. The only trouble is that psychology has a tendency to believe that anyone that doesn't believe that the self is superior, has some sort of affliction. In other words, someone threw a brick into the old machine. Sure, that might be true, but I'm also not entirely convinced that is the case. Considering todays society, with information, people, and experiences everywhere, wouldn't we change somehow because of all this? True, it probably depends on what images, what data we get exposed to. The question is, does it really change that much from person to person? With memes, articles, videos and so on spreading all over the world in a matter of minutes, how can we not start looking more or more alike? Or at least have quite a lot of common ground in how we evolve? What effects does the flow of information have on you? How has it affected me? I don't know, but were bound to find out sooner or later.

Why the Church of Scientology must fall

I'm not going to tell you any of the propaganda that sounds like the plot of the X-files, or point out the unfair tax reductions the church has. Instead I want to tell you that since this whole thing began, a few people have stepped forward, telling their stories about how their lives looked while they where members of the church. And the stories have been long, often dark, and most of them have made me either afraid, or brought me to tears. What some people have experienced seems like the worst sci-fi stories of oppression imaginable. Here is one example: "Your linked-to video voiceless surprised me. I didn't expect to cry. Years and years ago, I was heavily involved with the Co$. I bought it hook, line, and sinker. I thought I had the ultimate answer to everything and I was willing to fight for that with my life. I endured grueling 12+ hour workdays and virtually no pay for a chance to save the world. I practiced how to lie effectively (they call them TRs) and due to my "get it done" attitude, shortly had an office in the International Administration Headquarters in Hollywood, the Flag Command Bureau, as a member of the Sea Org. I had a nice office with a window seat overlooking downtown Hollywood, and I wore a uniform that looked sharp and military, with epaulets on my shoulder! It's hard to explain just how intoxicating it is to think you have the 100% right answer to all the world's problems. And, as a die-hard Scientologist, that's exactly what you think you have. You can create a beautiful world free of drug abuse, crime, insanity, and war. You just have to apply the tech. You are on the side of freedom, of knowledge, of truth, of unlimited personal power. And anybody who gets in your way needs to be shut up and rendered powerless by any means necessary. It's that simple! But, something just wasn't quite right. No matter how hard I tried, I could never quite do enough, or do it right enough. I had trouble getting the books and tapes to fully make sense to me. When I disagreed with what I read, I was sent to endless word clearing where we looked up every single word in the dictionary, one by one to try to find the "MU" or "Mis-Understood [word]". I had trouble getting up on time in the morning. I got sick from time to time, which is proof that I was "PTS" and needed ethics handling. I went through endless "ethics conditions" despite my very, very best intentions. They were very careful to keep me convinced that the problem was me. It's hard to explain how frustrating it was, to be surrounded by people who are apparently "getting it" and not being able to be one of them, despite having a tested genius IQ, and being able to read just about anything *ELSE* just one time and get it immediately. I thought there was something wrong with ME. I often cried before going to sleep at night. They had the tech, but who could explain me? When I got to work, I got lots and lots done. I was routinely commended for job well done, for quality work, for "stellar levels of production". It seemed that, when I worked, everything I touched turned to gold. Yet I couldn't make the most amazing technology in the world just make sense to me. I could read a book on mathematics, or aeronautics, or software, and turn right around and do it without any problem. (which is their test for comprehension: can you read it, and APPLY the result immediately?) But I couldn't do the same with Scientology. Something was wrong with me. So began my fall from greatness. Slowly, surely, over months and years, I lost all my former glory. My job title drifted from the international scale on down through the organization until I finally ended up at the very, very, very bottom. The RPF. AKA the Rehabilitation Project Force. It's like prison for Scientologists. You are a bad, bad, dude, or something is very, very wrong with you. You have exactly 7 hours to sleep in a crowded, slummy, cockroach infested triple-bunk in the basement. You wear black jump suits with colored arm bands. You eat only left overs. You get 1/4 the pay of normal staff. You perform grueling, hard, disgusting work from the time you get up until "personal enhancement time", where you have 2.5 hours of time to read Scientology books and tapes until bed time. You are not permitted to talk to staff "in good standing", though they are free to bark orders at you. You are not permitted to walk. (No kidding!) You must run everywhere you go, and if you are ever caught walking you are made to do push-ups or worse. You must be careful to stay out of public view because you are "out PR". What is perhaps most amazing to me is that I left, convinced that the problem was me. That, despite my best efforts and honest intentions, I just wasn't a good enough person to pass muster. It took me years to even question, to even bring up the personal strength to ask if the problem was, in fact, with me. It took years more to admit that, in fact, the problem was NOT with me, that the problem was with Scientology. Even now, Scientology invokes the deepest fear and terror imaginable. If there ever was pure evil, it is Scientology. The rage, the fear, the anger, the hatred runs deep. I will never, ever, forgive Scientology. And I will never, ever forget. I just hope I can face my fear enough to not let it stop me from marching next month, because I don't think I could actually forgive myself if I don't. I'm afraid. I'm angry. If you care about decency, if you care about those victims of Scientology, you will be standing next to me, behind a white mask, sign in hand. Be afraid. Be angry. And ignore my tears." This is the words of a former Scientologist. And there are countless more all over the net, even the current leader David Miscavages own niece has recently gone out about what she experienced. Not a pretty one, but she told it anyway at one of the protests, with tears in her eyes behind the black shades, and her voice almost cracking with emotion. But members of Anonymous have also gotten their share of abuse, thought not nearly as much as the former members and long time critics. An Australian Anon got fired from his job, after someone mysteriously sent his office a comment about a manager he had posted on his private blog 6 months ago. He seems to take it very well though, and is expecting to find a new job soon. Other Anons have offered help with legal issues, and some are pulling strings to get him a new job. Another have got death threats on the phone, but so far we have gotten away quite safely, compared to others. I have also heard that the CoS don't know what to do with this new threat, the masks makes sure they don't get any targets that they can harass, and they have ordered their people to either use their tech (stare us down), or ignore us. It doesn't seem to be working though, since most of the Scientologists appear to be curious on who these people are, and what they're trying to say. That is what this whole thing is about, getting people on the inside to start thinking, and hopefully acting. I don't wish for a bloody revolution, but a reformation would be most welcome. We will come back for you! <3

The Worlds Greatest City

All of you have walked through it, it's vastness is difficult to grasp, yet it is a place where you can never be truly lost. It is the synthesis of our civilizations, a brew made from all the cultures of the world. It contains all, and nothing. It is the Internet, of course. Sure, it isn't a city in the traditional sense, but if we compare the two we find many similarity's. The constant flow of information, the social networks, the almost unlimited supply of services, both legal and illegal. The only thing the Internet lacks is real physical movement, sure, you might count the electrical signals rushing trough the wires in the back of you computer as movement. This is of course true in a sense, movement is just another form of energy, but we experience different forms of energy in different ways. We are beings who are made to gather information and use it to our advantage, but the information can be acceded from any computer with a connection. This does not mean that physical learning isn't important, martial arts, parkour, figure skating, climbing, and so on. There are thousands of thing one must learn by practicing them. What the Internet has done is create an infinite amount of choices for us, some we do in the virtual world, other we do in the physical. So, what is so great about the Internet then? Except for it containing all the knowledge, both true and false? Well, first of, it's a thing that constantly change. Like our society, the Internet is re-structured, parts are torn down, others are built. Others just get a face lift. It lets us interact with most of the world, something that is quite amazing when you think about it. We can share stories, get to learn people, and have friends, even fall in love; whiteout even meeting the person in question. Isn't this in itself proof that humans are so much more than their bodies? Not that any sane person would believe otherwise, but still, reassuring oneself once in a while is always good. The Internet is ideas. Constantly spreading, dying, changing. Just as they did in ancient Greece, forming complicated networks consisting of people, so do they today, forming networks between computers, and ultimately, their users. This accelerated growth of the informational flow is both good and bad, on the plus side we get an infinity of information, and the means to spread our own. On the downside we get shorter attention spans. Ever wonder why young people don't read books? This is most likely why. Since birth we receive information constantly. Especially if you live in a city, since there is always some noise or light that the brain reacts to. We work constantly, even when we don't have to. Sure, watching tv might seem relaxing, but your brain has to handle a lot of input. Listening to music in a pitch black room is to be preferred in that case. Rest is of course the one thing that lets the brain wind down. It never stops working, but it can go into stand-by mode for a few hours, checking the system, sorting the new information, that sorta thing. It's remarkable how similar the Internet, computers and so on, are to ourselves and out society. But then again, we made it, so maybe not. The worlds most human city: Internet. Population: About half the people in the world. And don't even get me started on how big it is...

Life, Insanity and Information

Jupp, I'm finally saying something about myself, though I doubt it will be a glorious description of one of the heroes of our time. Anyway, before I depress myself, or you, to death, here's some basic info about me: I'm addicted to music. Meaning I can easily listen to 10 records a day, no problem. Movies are something else I tend to love, though I haven't felt like watching any lately for some reason yet to be brought to light. I am some sort of slacker nerd, if you need that sort of definition. Some people say I'm more indie though. I have no idea, and don't really care either. I am a university student, Intellectual History to be be precise. Coincidently, this is something of the most boring i have written in my life. Who give a dead dogs cock about it, except for my mother? And what does this say about me? Nothing really, I listen to a lot of music, but who doesn't? I like movies, most people do. So, what terrible secrets do I hide? Who are my victims? What hides in the dark corners of my soul? Not much, I have thought about killing people once or twice, fighting and dying for some cause I thought was just at that time. Orgy's, wild sex in one form or another, becoming a hermit and discovering all aspects of myself. I think a lot, would be the short answer. The only thing I know is that I don't know much about myself. I have no idea what I am, what I am able to do, what I could become if I strive for a goal. I don't even know if I have any real goals. This is what I have realized after having lived for 20 years, more or less. The years pass and you learn more and more, but all this knowledge makes it harder to decide between right and wrong. I'm not even sure there is such a thing as right or wrong, I do know what I think is right and wrong, but isn't that really all we got? Fashion, tv, computers, media, art, books, music, commercials, pins, food, and so on and on and on. The world is so full of information that we shut ourself off to get away from it. We drown in the constant flow, but have no choice but to accept it, doing otherwise would be admitting that we've lost control. As I walk trough this fairly small town that I live in, all these things bombard me. I am aware of what people wear, what the papers say, what cars I see pass me by. But the only thing that does not hit me until I am home again is that I am part of it all. The world we live in is no longer in our control. Sure, we have elections, we can chose to live on day by day, but what happens if we try to change the system, or break out of it? The system ends up rejecting us for the most part. And if some small change does take place, it's mostly so small that we don't notice it at first. But on the other hand, doesn't the modern human have to be constantly changing with society? All this new information hitting us day after day, hour after hour, second after second. If we don't change, perhaps we erode until we disappear? We get worn out, or maybe depressed, if there even is a difference. No wonder people go crazy when you think about it, if you change your reality you change the information. And if reality is no longer real, you no longer have to put up with it all. Maybe insanity is the sane reaction to todays society of never-ending input? If the society is insane, does that mean that your insane if you accept it, or if you reject it?

Anonymous vs. Scientology VI

Scientology have given on words and have started to act at last. The page containing the info about protest, assignments, and acts of support Party Van has been closed down for reasons unknown. Another site, 711chan, was targeted by a hacker group called The Regime, who apparently thought it was a good idea to brag about this on YouTube. This quickly resulted in them getting their site hacked, and their names, addresses, IPs and other info posted on their own homepage. More about this on Digg. Oh, and The Regime now goes under the name The Fagime. Anonymous has posted a second video: Call to Action. And if you wonder which videos are really Anonymous, and which are not... The user that posts the videos that have any true meaning goes under the name ChurchOfScientology on YouTube, subscribe today! Turns out there is also another blog dedicated solely to this event, and are apparently updated several times a day. It's called: Scientology is a crime against humanity ... An incredibly bad name really, but as it also happens to be true, and they do update more than I do... Disregard that, I suck cocks. Here's an example on the response you get for criticizing Scientology. Perfectly normal behavior, denial, turning the accusations around like an angry five years old boy... And they claim they're being harassed? And what was the deal with that cop? Bought, brainwashed, or both? Here's some less serious criticisms against $cientology: YAAFM. And finally, if you've got the resources to make your own stickers, here's the perfect thing: Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Anon vs. SoC: Spread the Word

As you might have figured out by now, getting this know all over the world is one of the cornerstones of the war. This is however not a war in that sense. This is a war using the media, Internet and viral marketing. Posters, articles, bloggs, videos, graffiti and many other things are used to get attention, to wake people up. Freedom of speech works both ways, and the Church of Scientology will claim that we are breaking CR. I, for one, does not believe in Copy Right, and advocates the Creative Commons License, but I'll let you know more about this in another post. What I wanted to spread with this post was some of the posters being used, all of whom are made with no intention of personal gain, and all of whom will be payed with Anons own money. Here they are: Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Anonymous vs. Scientology V

As you read more and more about this event you will no doubt hear things about Anonymous that are both good and bad. First of, those involved in this is not only members of Anonymous, others have heard about it on the news, read it in papers or found it online, and decided that they agree with us. That they, as us, want to know exactly what the Church stands for, what their goals are, why they don't spread their message as other religions do. The list of questions could go on and on. What I myself wonder is: why does salvation come at such a high prize? Why do they force people to have abortions so they can continue working for the CoS? Why does the members have to install programs on their computers that block anything that could question their beliefs? The answers are obvious, they don't care about their members, or their salvation. The question is: what are their goals then? I have heard that they are trying to secure posts in the American government, so perhaps they will try and have Cruise run for President eventually? I can not say that I know much for sure about them, mainly because they guard their teachings with a fanatical zeal. What I do know is that I think people should have the right think for themselves, decide what is right and wrong, what they want to do with their life's. But, as I was saying Anonymous is not some sort of ethic deity laying down the law for all to see. Anonymous is everyone and no one. And just as any person has the choice between good and bad, so does Anonymous. There are two sides of a sword, and Anon are both. We are like you, and we are you. After all, society has not left that much place for development of the individual so that we are all vastly different. We are society in itself, and in this society all kinds of people co-exist. All are no good, all are not bad. Some are sane, some are mad. What Anonymous will never be is inhuman, something might look that way, but even they greatest human has the ability perform acts of incomprehensible cruelty. It as they saying goes: Because non of us are as cruel all of us.

Anonymous vs. Scientology IV

Things are heating up, the Church of Scientology has started responding. A Swedish representative claimed that Anonymous was affiliated with gun runners and drug dealers. The more intelligent response came from XenuTV who encouraged people not to do anything illegal. The problem here, as I see it, is that since the CoS is the ones who started brainwashing, love bombing, and in general using people who's only fault was that they felt lonely, insecure or that they lacked a purpose. Targeting campuses and schools to make kids and youth work for them is also a good source of cheap labor, as we have seen in certain third world countries from time to time. The CoS also claims that the information provided by Anon is faulty. The question here is why they didn't seem to care much about several of the sites Anon has promoted recently, before this got the medias attention? Sure, they no doubt tried to sue the creators, threaten their hosts and so forth, but they didn't go out with a public statement saying "This and this is wrong." before a larger interest was created by Anonymous. Another representative said that she: "don't give a damn what a bunch of pathetic computer geeks does." or something along those lines, the word "bunch" might not be correct. In response for the Internet, I'd like to say that: "We don't care what the brainwashed puppets of a cult thinks". I'd also like to clear up a few misunderstandings about Anonymous. They are not hackers, though some might very well be... They are a mix of people from all over the world, mostly youth, who does not take kindly to the CoS attempts to censor the Internet and media. A larg part of the next generation, and of course people from others as well, have decided that they're tired of secrecy, the greed, lies and all form of fucked up behavior being showed by the Church of Scientology. Anonymous is the general public, the common and uncommon people, the outcasts, the bored, the scenesters and emos. Anonymous is me. Anonymous is you. And they've just made us angry.

Anonymous vs. Scientology III

The conflict, war, battle, or epic raid, has moved into it's fourth phase. Namely spreading the word all over the world, and try to generate negative attention towards the church of Scientology. Several videos, articles and documents regarding the conflict can be found on Digg, YouTube, Google, all over the place more or less. More and more serious newspapers and such are showing an interest in the conflict. Some think the Anonymous are doing more damage than good, others think they're vigilantes, fighting for a just cause. Physically, a few brave souls have put up posters and given out flyer's in New York around one of the Churches there. In Perth, Australia, other members of Anonymous have made decals and spray painted their messages around town, and on the door to the local Scientology church. Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Sure, it's technically vandalism, but it's still damn funny.

Anonymous vs. Scientology II

As I said, I will try and keep you up to date about the battle, and will do so divided into several ongoing posts here on my little blog. What I need to clarify here, is the fact that several sites have been threatened with lawsuits from the Church of Scientology, amongst these are Google, Gawker, and YouTube. The only real question is how many hours it will take before they try to pin a lawsuit against Anon? Something that will be nearly impossible, since the number of people involved, and their identity's, are unknown. Anyway, here is the declaration of war, so to speak: Message to Scientology. And further more, a protests of sorts in England: Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Anonymous vs. Scientology

It is indeed true, the cult versus the infamous Anonymous! The battle has raged for a few days now, and so far Anonymous have closed down a few of the Scientos pages, prank called, ordered them pizza and cabs, to mention a few things. All of this is done publicly as well. But the main thing here is to consider the fact that Anonymous is the perfect organization to take on Scientology. Why? Because they are really anonymous, which seems to be the only defense against the tactics of the church, which includes lawsuit till death for anyone who criticises, questions or try to spread any of their beliefs. People get photographed, and probably stored in some sort of register of know troublemakers or something, only for questioning them publicly. Reporters investigating the church are being followed and advised to stop their slander or face lawsuits. The purpose of these lawsuits are mainly to literally kill a persons finances. It's a message saying: "Do not fuck with us, you can't afford it." And for those who leave this little, friendly and in no way illegal cult, things get really bad. Accusations of pedophilia, threats, and so fort and so on. No "Turn the other check" here... The worst part is that media and celebrities are careful about criticizing Scientology, in fear of a lawsuit which only reason is to intimidate them into keeping their criticisms to a minimum, or non-existant. Anyway, Anon is tired of the abuse of freedom of speech, and has decided to declare war against the Scientos. Something that I wish them luck in, and who knows? I might even try and help them out a bit. As I mentioned, this little battle has only just begun, and there has so far been a little interest shown by the media. But if this thing actually turns into what I hope it will turn into, we're gonna hear a lot more about it soon... One of the first news casts about the battle.

Suger High

There is only one drug that everyone does. That drug is sugar. It's not like heroin or anything, but the danger with sugar is that it works in the same way, just on a much smaller scale. What happens when we eat sugar is that the brain releases all these substances that stimulates the nerves in such a way that you feel good. That's is of course not a bad thing. What is, is that since we eat such incredible amounts of sugar these days, it's in bread, pasta, in most about everything essentially, it fucks up the brain in a very small, but crucial way. When we eat sugar, the brain releases opioids. Opioids is the same thing that the brain releases when we use heroin or morphine, though of course in a much larger scale. The problem with sugar is that we can eat it all the time, and therefore keep the amount of opioids constant, we get addicted to the brains own chemicals essentially. However, this has yet to be proved to be the case on humans. Tests on rats has confirmed that they develop an addiction to sugar, and suffer from withdrawal when denied it. It is however quite likely that this is also the case with humans, since there is not that great of a difference in the brains between mammals. Though, there is of course a difference between our sugar and natural sugar. Our sugar is purified several times, treated with different chemicals, and heated amongst other things. These processes are mainly to make the sugar look good. However, they also remove all the good things with the sugar. It is however true that sugar is important for the brain. Natural sugar, that is. The natural sugar contains vitamins and minerals, amongst other things, which makes it quite healthy for us. Natural sugar is also built in a different way than processed sugar. This is important because our brains use sugar as its only fuel. However, too much is not good for it, since that actually prevents it from receiving the much needed sugar. Natural sugar is constructed in such a way that it is not directly absorbed by the body, the process takes a while, and maintains the level of sugar in the blood fairly even. Our artificial sugar, we might as well call it that, since that's essentially what it is, is absorbed almost instantly, almost as if injected into the blood. This of course causes the sugar level in the blood to peak, the body releases insulin to store this extra sugar, but the insulin levels take much longer to drop than the sugar does. The liver can't absorb all that extra insulin very fast, and don't normally need to either. The only natural source we have for that much sugar is honey, which naturally is very hard to come by. The simple fact is that our bodies does not evolve as fast as either our society, science, and brains does. And with these kinds of sugar levels, our brains won't get much further anyway. So, what should we avoid then? Mainly candy and soda, it's that easy. Eat breakfast, a real one, not waffles or anything like that. Hobbes in the US?

I was recently writing a paper on Thomas Hobbes and John Locke, and started thinking about modern day society's that resembles their political views on how the perfect society should look. I almost instantly draw a line between the American government and Hobbes ideas about the social contract. This contract is agreed upon by the individuals, and by giving up some of their rights and freedoms to one single ruler, the society gain is stability and becomes safer for the citizens of said society. So, giving up parts of your freedom to gain security? Made me think of the Patriots Act straight away, though I must admit that I have not read the document myself, so I might be a bit off. Anyway, from what I've understood, the document gives the government the right to deny the citizens some of their rights in order to make life safer and more stable in the country. This also means that the citizens have to believe that their government will do only just that, work towards safety and stability, since it would be just as easy for them to work towards other goals as well. It's essentially a matter of control, the people give some of their control for safety, which means the government is given more control, which can also be used to restrict the control of the people further. What I'm getting at is basically that no government should be unrestricted in it's actions, even if the people made these actions possible. A government that works for itself and not it's people is no longer the peoples government. But would it work the other way around then? If we take my country, Sweden, as an example... We have a coalition government, consisting of several different political parties, which is mainly the case because of our political system. The problem with a government such as this, is that it does not have the same kind of power as the American government has. On the upside is the fact that this government is restricted because of the fact that the people have more control over it, but this might not be a very valid comparison because of the difference in size between the two country's. After all it also affect the size of the government in itself, but also how close most people can get to the government. If a majority of the people in a country is politically active it decrees' the possibility of the government to get too much control. If there is a an uninterested attitude towards politics, the government can do pretty much what it pleases, as long as it keeps the people happy. As you might suspect by now, I'm more in favor of Locke than Hobbes, though there is of course good and bad things with both their views... As there usually is in life.

Good and Evil

This is actually one of the hardest things to discus. Since there is not such thing as either good or evil, these are only word, describing different things for different people. What can be done is to define a few guidelines for what is right or wrong. For example, something that benefits everyone is a good thing, something that affect everyone negatively is bad. Though this is only barely an outline, if even that, we can at least use it in some way. Let's say a majority of people are benefited from something, and a small portions is affected negatively. Is that a good thing? Most people would say so, but it is not really representative for a democratic country, since it's run by the will of the people, and if a majority of the people benefits... Well, you see what I'm getting at here. Would this then make the majority evil? No, of course not, however, it does not make them good either. And that is because there are still a few people that had to suffer from the backlash of the greater good of the majority. But, this does not discredit the democratic system, since if a minority rules, the majority suffers instead. A truly democratic system can of course not exist, since it would have to take into account the opinions of every single individual in that society. It is not possible for such a society to exist, so instead we have one that takes into account most of the peoples general opinions. But, this is only a generalization of Good and Evil, however, that might be the best way to describe it. There is no Good and Evil, only generalizations? If we switch the view of Good and Evil to the individual, we get another view. Most people split things into these opposites, but, we do recognize the fact that things are mostly not all Evil, or all Good. People who do split thing into all Good or Evil are suffering from mental problems according to current psychological standards. But let's say one person view's something as evil, and another as good, who is right? How do we decide? We could of course decide on what benefits most people, but what if we can't do that, how do we decide then? And another thing, we can't base Good and Evil on people only, we need to use it as terms incorporating the entire planet. What benefits the planet benefits it's inhabitants after all. What we could perhaps do is decide what effects the topic being discussed as Good or Evil could have, if there is mostly positive things, it's Good, if it's mostly negative things, it's Evil. But that also depends on personal views, and since we can't disregard our own personality, we find ourselves stuck in a deadlock with ourselves. Sure, if we decide that something is good for most, but bad for oneself, we should still support it, but we don't. This is true in most cases, why that is I don't know, it might be because of instincts, or perhaps upbringing? Personality, maybe because of society itself? If it is indeed society, that is an contradiction in itself, since society is for the majority, but then would also influence us in a direction that opposes society, and promotes personal gain. I also find myself believing that people are evil, but not from birth, but because of our upbringing, and how we are influenced by society, but also media. We are literally brainwashed by the streams of commercials, life-style programs, music, movies and even our friends. They convey messages of wealth that we should strive for, things we need to be successful, how we, our life, our friends, our thought and souls should look like. And we ourselves repeat these messages, and spread the streamlining of the individual a little bit more. But, this is nothing I can say for sure, it's only a stream of consciousness you might say. It's what I suspect might be true, but I will not claim to know anything, that is up to you to decide...

Fanatical Hate Preaching Sects Attack!

Yes, you read it right. That's the most scary part, there are people who believe that hate is the way to change the world. And it's apparently Gods hate... Luckily I'm an atheist, so I'm not that offended. What did offend me the most was the praise over the dead Swedes in the Tsunami that hit Thailand. Obviously, people that tolerate homosexuals, have anal sex, and don't tolerate preachers talking shit about homosexuals, must be the children of Satan? Right? As you might have guessed by now: I am Swedish. I am in support of homosexuality, anal sex, and believe that the judging of people based on their sexual orientation, politics, religion, ethnicity or sex is wrong. I believe in peace, freedom and a society based on science and personal evolution, rather than financial gain. Here's a link to the nice people of the Westboro Baptist Church's homepage: Hatedotcom What scares me the most though, is the fact that there are several of these Hate Cults operating inside America, and probably other countries as well. For some reason they have decided that God is apparently the God of Hate. These guys clearly need to go see Kevin Smiths Dogma... And besides, I'm not sure I can say that I find this scary, I find it hilarious at some points actually... Like when they burned the Canadian flag, and declared that: "Canada is a homo-fascist state where the filthy fag agenda has become the law of the land." Yeah, right... What amazes me the most though, is that people like this hasn't been locked into mental institution yet. They're clearly fanatics, opposed to human rights, and probably ethics and moral as well. And no, moral has nothing to do with religion. I have nothing more to say, this bores me already... I also apologies for the sudden change of fonts, I'm having trouble with Blogger for some reason...

Oh Motherland...

Read this, then the blog. I don't buy it, though some of it is probably true... The guy who wrote it isn't a journalist, which is clearly noticeable in the way he writes, it's more like a column in how it's structured. I mostly wonder why the hell it's placed under news... And the fact that extreme right-wings organizations are on the upswing isn't something exclusive for Russia, it's the same thing here. Most of the racist parties have gained a lot in the latest readings, some have actually doubled. Though then we have to take into account that they don't have more than 1-2 %, and that's after they've gained some.... What further discredits this article is the fact that it's in such a crappy excuse for a paper. Look at the rest of the content for example... Kate Moss and Harry Potter. So it's a children's magazine, why didn't it say so? And the name of the article was probably what drove the stake trough poor old Dracula...

Sex for the motherland: Russian youths encouraged to procreate at camp

Yey! Sex! And what was the point of the whole thing? Mainly to compare todays Russia to the old Nazi Germany. So the name of the "article" was only to get peoples attention, and if that was what got their attention I strongly doubt that few of them got further than the picture... And to mention another thing that you did see if you payed attention, the guy is the author of the upcoming book "The New Cold War and How to Win It". Which means it's more or less commercial for his upcoming book. Though I agree with him on a few point, Putin is edging more and more towards fascism, which anyone with half a brain has noticed by now. Russia has always been a poor country, in comparison with the rest of the worlds industrial countries, nothing new here. The fact that the situations hasn't changed is what is most terrifying. The Nazis took power in Germany because of the instability's there, and the people thought that a strong ruler would be the best thing to regain stability. However the Nazis failed to do so, and therefore blamed Jews, Gypsies and a bunch of other groups to avert the anger of the people. That is of course the simplified version, and if you didn't get it, i suggest a quick visit to a very good site to learn a bit about modern history. www.wikipedia.com Though as anyone with a braincell knows, you should never totally trust wiki, always double check your info. Mindfuck for all!

No Faith

I don't kid myself in believing that anyone actually reads all the shit I write. Luckily, that don't matter, since I only write for me, and me alone. Todays topic is religion, or as i like to call it, aid for the living impaired. Though I'm not saying that all religions are shit, just most of them. The big once are the best examples, but those aren't any fun to write about, so I'll just take religion in general as an example. For instance, the fact that a person that does not believe in a religion will end up in said religions version of hell. And it doesn't matter how good that persons been. There in itself we find a contradiction. Say that this boy, let's call him George, after the monkey/president... Anyway, George is a good guy, he cares for people, even those he doesn't know, he gives money to the poor, and is active in a ideal organization or two. He doesn't believe in Krishna, Buddha or God, but follows many of their basic ideas of compassion, kindness, and all that. He still get sent to hell, the void, Samsara or whatever. Why? Because of the simple fact that he did not believe. Why would any deity care if he believed or not? They don't, cause they don't exist. Then who does? Think about it, it's not very hard. Who profits the most from organized religions? Could it be... The church?! And sure, the church does some good things, but it mostly works for it's own sake. Organizing bible camps and shit to brainwash the next generation into repeating the pattern that has existed for several hundreds of years now. And who is it that is drawn to religions? Except for children with parents that don't believe in letting their children think for themselves... Mostly those that has ended up in the outskirts of society, those that feel lost and are unsure of themselves. Sure, religion gives them a purpose, the only problem is that it's not their purpose. They chose to join because they want a feeling of security and to be a part of society once again. And this saddens me, haven't we gotten further than this? Why do we still seem to need the constant reassurance of others to put value in ourselves? Why are we still that fucking primitive? The only faith we need is faith in ourselves, and not even that, we need to know ourselves. That's it.

Democracy?

I've been thinking about the situation here in Sweden recently, and it's not as democratic as you might have been lead to believe. For instance, the income of the people making the least money has been cut thanks to our new government, who promised that everyone would get more money. Of course this does not affect them, they don't live like the poorest, and probably never has either. They fact is that the upper middle class is ruling this country, it might be right if the majority of the population were middle class, but that is of course not the case. There is always a huge mix of people from different parts of society, and as long as a majority of people from the same place in society rules, the country they rule is not a democracy. It's sad to think about those that could have become great leaders and role-models, but were so put of by the current political system that they ended up working in factories, wondering what happened to all their dreams and plans for the future. Those that could have written great novels, and made beautiful pieces of art if they only had finished their education. Now stuck dead end jobs, or not even having a job at all. having to struggle to even get food for the day. Is this good, is it right? Is it what we are supposed to be, people that ended up wrong because of glitches? Or is it the individuals fault? Not a chance, the individual is shaped by it's surrounding, mostly your parents, though I'm not talking about Freud or anything, it's just the simple fact that you are influenced a lot by your parents opinions and limitations. You, as well as everyone else is a part of a system that creates people that are getting more and more similar to each other. The technique of cloning has already been implemented on our society, it's a system designed to make us easier to manipulate, so that we stop to question, stop thinking about what's going on in the world around us. Our thoughts are drowned in the flow of information, in the assault of commercials and tv-shows. We are slowly drowning in others manufactured opinions, and do not even realize it ourselves.
